Emilie Winfield
Emilie joined Marin RCD in March 2021 and serves as the Director for the first regional soil hub in the state, the North Coast Soil Hub. Her position serves the North Coast Durable Collaborative - a group of North Coast RCDs that came together in 2019 to increase coordination, streamline program delivery, and amplify program outcomes for agricultural resilience in the region. In her role, Emilie supports local and regional collaboration on soil health initiatives and climate-resilient agriculture, capacity-building at member organizations, securing resources for planning and project implementation, applied research and development of region-specific tools for soil health assessment, and knowledge sharing to advance adoption of agroecological practices. Prior to joining the North Coast RCDs, she worked for the USDA California Climate Hub, managed diversified agriculture operations in CA and NY, and participated in research on plant-microbe interactions and the impacts of soil amendments on working lands. Emilie holds a B.S. in Plant Sciences from UC Santa Cruz and an M.S. in Environmental Policy and Management from UC Davis.
